IT Cleanup Sprint

Your IT doesn't need a full-time provider yet. It needs to stop being a mess.

For businesses with neglected, undocumented, or chaotic IT who aren't ready for ongoing managed IT - the IT Cleanup Sprint is a focused, fixed-scope engagement that fixes the worst problems fast.

What's included

What's covered in a Sprint.

Account & Access Cleanup

We remove logins still active for employees who left months or years ago, eliminate shared accounts that make it impossible to know who did what, and document exactly who has access to what across your systems.

Vendor & License Audit

We figure out what you're actually paying for across software, licenses, and IT vendors, cancel what's unused or duplicated, and document renewal dates so nothing auto-renews as a surprise again.

Cloud Tenant Cleanup

Your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant gets cleaned up: unused licenses you're paying for and not using, orphaned accounts, and misconfigured file sharing that's leaking access to the wrong people.

Backup Verification

We confirm backups actually exist, actually run on schedule, and can actually be restored - not just "configured once years ago and forgotten." If there's a gap, you'll know about it before it becomes a disaster.

Security Basics

MFA enforcement across critical accounts, an endpoint protection baseline on every device, and email filtering turned on wherever it's missing - the fundamentals that close off the most common attack paths.

Documentation

A written record of your network, systems, vendors, and accounts that didn't exist before - so the next person who needs to understand your IT environment isn't starting from zero.

Who this is for

Built for businesses that aren't ready for full managed IT yet.

Most businesses that need a Sprint fall into one of a few categories: they inherited a mess from a previous IT provider who didn't document anything on the way out, they've never had a properly documented IT environment to begin with, or they've simply outgrown the "whoever's good with computers handles it" approach and the cracks are starting to show - forgotten accounts, unclear vendor bills, no idea if backups actually work.

The Sprint is fixed-scope and time-boxed by design - it's not an ongoing commitment. You know what's covered, what it costs, and when it's done before we start. For some businesses, this is a standalone engagement: we fix what's broken, hand you the documentation, and you're done. For others, it's the natural first step before moving into a full managed IT relationship, since it gets your environment to a baseline where ongoing management actually makes sense.

One thing the Sprint doesn't cover in depth is the physical side - cabling, rack organization, and network room cleanup. That's handled separately by our IT Cleanup & Remediation service. If your network closet is as much of a problem as your accounts and vendors, we can scope both together.

Common questions

Questions we hear about the Sprint.

How is this different from your regular IT Cleanup & Remediation service?
IT Cleanup & Remediation is focused on the physical side - cable management, rack organization, network room documentation, and hardware decommissioning. The IT Cleanup Sprint is broader and covers what's happening above the hardware: accounts and access, vendor and license spend, cloud tenant configuration, backup verification, and security basics. Many businesses need both, and we're happy to scope them together.
Does this commit us to ongoing managed IT afterward?
No. The Sprint is a standalone engagement with a defined start and end. You're not signing up for an ongoing contract by doing one. That said, many clients choose to move into a managed IT plan afterward, simply because the Sprint gets their environment to a point where ongoing management is straightforward instead of starting from chaos.
How long does a Sprint take?
Typically a few weeks from kickoff to completion, depending on the size of your environment, how many systems and vendors are involved, and how much access cleanup is needed. We scope the timeline upfront so you know what to expect before we start.
What do you need from us?
Access to your current systems - email/cloud admin, vendor accounts, backup consoles, and anything else in scope - plus a point of contact on your end who can answer questions and confirm decisions as we go (for example, which accounts are still needed or which vendor subscriptions to keep).
What if we find bigger problems during the sprint?
It happens - sometimes a quick look at backups turns up a bigger gap, or a vendor audit reveals something that needs more than a cleanup. If that happens, we flag it and scope the additional work separately. There's no surprise work and no surprise billing without your approval first.
